Crop Circles in Wisconsin?

Hey folks,
I was just wondering if any crop circles have been reported or spotted in Wisconsin recently. I have always wanted to visit a crop circle site.

There was a crop circle here this past summer, I think in July. I think it was attributed to more of wind damage than actually being a real crop circle though. It was very plain. Some groups were doing investigation on it but I've not heard anything new. We did put up a page for it on the site at : http://www.ufowisconsin.com/news/n2003_0704_cropcircle.html that has links to see the original news article & pictures of the circle.

The one with the circles I think were in no way wind damage. There were either a hoax or legit. Wind damage wouldn't make perfect circles. We did go to see one also that was wind damage, and it was just random.

I just didn't see any signs normally at a legit circle, even though I admit I'm far from an expert in the field. I also went to the circle far after it was formed, so there was likely a lot of trampling around by interested people before I even saw it, which probably changed the scene quite a bit.

TEXT Yes, "break4luv", several authentic CC's appeared in Wisconsin in 2003. Stay tuned over here to learn of the one's that will appear in 2004. It is I disagreeumption that "they" will not draw as many in England from now on but instead draw them in other areas where they will be noted. Look for them in obvious places such as tourist areas & along highways. They want us to notice them. - If you read my first posting (first one here), you will see that I am asking everybody to notify me ASAP as soon as they hear of one. My e-mail address is: tjsutter@frontiernet.net - Thank You - Tom

Crop circles are real. We had one appear near Mayville Wisconsin during a thunderstorm in 2003. A farmer nearby witnessed the actual process.

News media swarmed over the site along with the US Airforce in a helicopter.

I was a sceptic until I visited the site myself. The rye grain that I took a sample of was bent by intense heat that weakened the stalk. I kept a sample.

Very strange! I have no explanation for what I saw.

Hi Nelson,
That crop circle in Mayville was never determined to be real.

The short answer to your question is yes. There are a number of sources that you can consult regarding the nature of crop circle patterns. You might try at your local library and pick up some of the most recent books on the subject. I'm sorry I can't give you any titles off the top of my head but I'm sure you will find something of interest if you look around a bit.

I was a skeptic regarding crop circles until I visited a site near Mayville last year. The site I visited was extensively investigated by the US military including the Air Force. There was also state wide media coverage.
What made this site particularily interesting was the formation was witnessed by a man and his wife during a thunderstorm.

You might try an internet search on the Mayville Crop Circles.

Good Luck!

I think the governtment is paying people to say crop circles arnt realy. If they are called to a circle site. they will pay the person not to say anything.

I don't remember if this was the right thread or not, but to whoever was trying to claim that the Mayville crop circle was real, it WAS a hoax. Here's some info that was posted on another group in regards to a recent alleged crop circle, and the info refers to the mayville one as well.

From Jeff Wilson:

I've already found out about the two side-by-side 'formations', and they are hoaxes. The Dodge County Sheriff's Dept. have been quite helpful in providing me with details of the evidence they've gathered so far (muddy footprints left throughout, a trail from one formation to the other with what appears to be someone who has dragged a board leaving scrape marks, found a string/rope left behind, the formations were on a hillside facing Hwy 28 for optimum visibility, other signs of mechanical damage). But anyway, here's a couple of photos of the 'formations' --

The landowner/farmer isn't allowing anyone into the formation except the Sheriff's Department at this point, because they consider them to be vandalism. It isn't surprising to us that there are hoaxes there, there were hoaxes in the area in 2003 after the first Mayville/Kekoskee formation and the Clyman one were reported. It may be the same group operating again. Feel free to pass this info on to the W-files and anyone else who's interested.

In all fairness, Jen, the paragraph states that the hoaxes were discovered after the Mayville formation was reported. It doesn't necessarily suggest that the Mayville formation was a hoax.
