Some of you may be familiar with this story. They even made a movie about it.

The Travis Walton case is one of the few that always amazes me. Whenever I get frustrated with the whole ufo research bit, I go back and read his book. The book was much more interesting than the movie, hollywood blew the movie out of porportion for scare effect. You can check out the book here:

The Travis Walton story might have holes within it. It's interesting that Phillip Klass should write up a statement on why he feels this didn't occur. So Jenny, have at this one. undecided

hi Bill,

I didn't read the whole story. I stopped when they said this happened in Arizona. If they can't get the fact where this suppose to have happend right, I don't have alot of faith the rest of the story is correct either.

Who knows what really happened. When it comes to abduction stories, you can't win either way. If you talk about it your "crazy", if you don't, it will make you go crazy sad

Hi,

Thanks for that link Bill. I can honestly say that I've watched the movie, but have not read the book. I think I'll get it. As Lucy said though, there's no way to win at this point. I know I tend to be overly-skeptical about a lot of different cases, but at this point its almost a personal preference as to what you are willing to believe & what makes sense to you. After reading that article, there are a few questions I'd yet like to ask the author of that. Also, I think part of the problem with investigations is people are either 1) true believers & trying to prove their point, or 2) disbelievers and are trying to prove their point. So either way, the researcher is biased towards a specific goal.

Lucy, I guess in the long run, to talk about the abduction, would be better than to go crazy from it. Though, that might be the case in the longer run anyway.
Though he got the location wrong, I'm wondering with some of the statements made by Travis's family members, if this could actually be only one of the multiple abductions Travis has actually discovered.
Only he would know or tell. shocked

Hi Lucy,

I thought this did happen in Arizona, somewhere in the White Mountains (which Snowflake is there). I first saw the movie when I was living in Phoenix, and remember asking my ex to take me up north to see if we could find the UFOs.

Hi all Im trazzie,Im new to the forum and hope I am welcome. Ive been interested in UFO's since I was about five years old.Which took the place of dinosaurs
And volcanos.Well enough about me.In order for me to perticipate.I guess I need to get my feet wet.(ie.)Question or oppinion. Or maybe even both.I noticed that the conversation went from abduction to religion rather quickly.I failed to make that connection with the
story. Fire In The Sky. That is my question? You can be bold in your answer Im 48 now.yours truly trazzie

Hi Trazzie,

You are very welcome to the board, I hope we get more people joining!

I think you are asking how the thread on Fire in the Sky went from abductions to spirituality. The answer is it didn't. If you read the "10 most recent posts" that is a mixture of whatever topics have been started or had replies. There are threads on this board about spirituality, but they're under the "religion" category. Hope that makes sense.

Hi trazzie,

No harm done! Look forward to seeing more posts from you. You did bring up a good point, in a warped way alien abduction stories are similar to soap opera's or sitcoms. Nobody eats or goes to the bathroom there either. Wonder why that is (regarding the abductions, not the tv shows)

Well Jenny, first off, I live in South Milwaukee, WI
Doreen and I discussed the program for a bit before she left the room.
Being Wiccan, she doesn't place much faith in any of these reports, claiming mostly that the Christian Church made up or stole most everything conceived from the pagans who came before them. Even our holidays were taken from pagan holidays. She believes Christ existed, as did other prophets, but looks at him more as a huskster selling newspapers on the street.
The Bible, written and rewritten by man, says whatever man says it says, which is mostly interpetation upon interpetation, as is most everything 1000 or more years back.
So thats my 2 bits worth. Myself, if you want to believe in something, believe in yourself. That will be the only one who will truely be with you when you die.

We once discussed this Poo-Poo topic, in a yahoo group of rougly 25 - 50 abductees or experiencers, (I think they prefer the later title, but I'd have to ask again) but the concenius was for the most part, nothing was given to anyone to eat, (with the exception of Joe Simington, from WI, who was not an abductee, but did receive 3 cardboard tasting pancakes from Italian looking ET's), they may have been given water, but most reported ingesting a liquid of sorts, for whatever purpose. No one spoke of the Poo-Poo situation till near the very end of the session, when a woman came foreward and mentioned that she had to do her second duty during an experience and was either pointed to or escorted to an area that had something you sit on with a hole in it, much like an out house without walls. She remembers going, but doesn't remember what happened after that. Apparently, the ET's are concerned about restroom memory retrevials also. Owwww, but how does one deal with no TP, not a newspaper in site, d**n, not even a tree and its fall outside. rolleyes
I'll ask Jim to pop in and give a report.

Bests,
Bill
